Entering the Arena

Beautiful area, surroundings and Arena. However, gaining entry to the Arena is not a good experience. Especially with Covid, you encourage everyone to line up and go up the stairs only to be stopped in a massive amount of people to get scanned. One direction had two lines for people with bags and only one line the other way for bags. Why? Most women have purses and must be checked. It appears that most people stick together with their wife not to get lost which increases the amount of people waiting to search one bag? Why not open all but two lines each way for people without bags resulting in many more lines available to scan bags. Your line ups would reduce getting more people into the facility faster. With the amount of money the Lightning have, you can afford more x-ray machines to accommodate additional lines. The other issue, absolutely no staff directing people to make sure only the people with bags are in that specific line, again would speed up entry.

Rude Fans a Huge Downer

We attended the Lightning Canadiens game on December 28. This is not the first time I've attended a Lighting vs Habs game, but it has been a while (pre Stanley Cups). As opposed to games I've attended in NYC, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, I found the fans at this game to be rude and particularly obnoxious. From fans yelling out "Montreal Canadians Suck" at the top of their lungs repeatedly during the game, to their loud booing when the Habs did finally manage to score a goal (a good goal with no controversy or review required), to cheering when a Habs player was hurt ruined the game experience for us. We haven't observed this when attending hockey games elsewhere, whether pre or post COVID-19. This level of disrespect and unsportsmanlike conduct from the fans will have me thinking twice about attending another game at Amalie arena.
